WWE NXT Preview: September 1, 2026 – Heatwave Fallout Takes Center Stage
Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT is all about the fallout from Heatwave, and there is plenty to unpack after a chaotic weekend for the brand. Grayson Waller walked out of Heatwave as the new NXT Champion, stealing the championship in the Fatal 4-Way over Tony D’Angelo, Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu. Kelani Jordan also captured the NXT Women’s Championship, defeating Kendal Grey. Both new champions are expected to be part of tonight’s show as NXT begins moving forward toward its next major event.
The in-ring action features four matches, with several competitors looking to make an impression coming out of Heatwave. Naraku takes on Shiloh Hill, while Mason Rook battles Kam Hendrix in singles action. The women’s division will see Thea Hail go one-on-one with Nikkita Lyons, giving both wrestlers an opportunity to build some momentum. With NXT coming off a major premium live event, these matches could also help establish who is next in line for bigger opportunities.
The tag team matchup rounds out the announced card, as Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno team up against Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux. More importantly, tonight should give fans their first real look at what the NXT landscape looks like following Heatwave. With Waller and Jordan starting their championship reigns and the road toward Halloween Havoc beginning, tonight’s episode could set up several of NXT’s next major storylines.
