Recently, I had the honor of having an exclusive phone interview with the legendary deathmatch wrestler Necro Butcher. All he asked was that I DoorDash him a six-pack for his time. Seeing that I might get more time if I sent him twevle-pack I chose to go that route and he humbly obliged.

When I think back to deathmatch wrestlers that reignited my interest in pro wrestling, Necro Butcher is up there. He was part of the XPW relaunch after beating cancer. In his rematch against Shlak, I was captivated by the carnage and chaos. The two traded punches with zero defense and then brawled among the crowd. The highlight for me is when Shlak called on the audience to bury Necro Butcher in folding chairs—a scene similar to Cactus Jack vs Terry Funk. It was a fight forever moment I’ll cherish fondly.

Outside the ring, you’ll see a different side of Necro Butcher—you’ll see Dylan Summers. A veteran, a gamer, a family man, and a baseball enthusiast. While Necro lets his hands do the talking Dylan is open to debate and will subtly jab with satirical mocking.

While we’re likely on opposite sides of the political spectrum a major motivator for me to do this interview was to gain a better understanding of the man, the myth, the legend. Which I strongly believe I do. We cover a wide range of topics including his injuries, the negative criticism he’s received online, politics, and his goals for 2025. I hope you enjoy listening to this interview as much as I enjoyed conducting it.
