WWE NXT returns tonight with a loaded two-hour show from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and there is plenty on the line as the road to Halloween Havoc continues. The biggest attraction of the night will be Grayson Waller defending the NXT Championship against Mason Rook. Waller captured the championship at NXT Heatwave on August 30, defeating Tony D’Angelo, and has held the title for just under a month. Rook earned this opportunity earlier this month by winning a Triple Threat No. 1 Contender’s Match against D’Angelo and Saquon Shugars, and now gets his first shot at the biggest championship in NXT.

The NXT Women’s North American Championship will also be defended tonight when Zaria puts her title on the line against Thea Hail. These two have developed plenty of history in recent weeks, with Hail already scoring a submission victory over Zaria and then pinning the champion in tag team action last week. Hail is looking to become the first two-time NXT Women’s North American Champion, while Zaria will be looking to shut down Hail’s recent momentum and continue her own reign. There is also another wrinkle to keep an eye on, as Izzi Dame has remained involved in the situation surrounding the championship.

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic continues tonight with two first-round matches. Nathan Frazer and Axiom, collectively known as Fraxiom, return to NXT competition to face DarkState’s Osiris Griffin and Cutler James. The other first-round matchup will see Channing Lorenzo and Uriah Connors of Birth Right take on the unusual pairing of AAA’s Mini Vikingo and Evolve’s Chaz “Starboy” Hall. With the tournament already underway and the winners moving on to the quarterfinals, tonight’s matches add another layer to an already busy NXT episode. Myles Borne is also advertised to return, adding another storyline to watch as the show heads toward Halloween Havoc. NXT airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
