Ring of Honor was taped on August 8th and premiered on Honorclub on the 13th. It was in Arena Mexico, just as its sister company, AEW, was last week. Here is what went down in this historic arena.

TNT Championship Match- Kevin Knight (c) vs. Titan
  • Kevin Knight (c) and Titan started off the night fighting for the TNT title with an odd energy from the champion. Knight was hesitant to shake Titan’s hand, Knight decided against it, but it crossed his mind for sure. Although Titan was not able to pick up the win, he had a good showing against the champion. Is Kevin Knight burning the candle at both ends like Darby Allin said? Will he be able to defend at All In against Allin? I suppose we’ll see soon.
ROH World Television Championship Match- Lio Rush (c) vs. El Clon
  • Next was time for El Clon (with Don Calis by his side, unfortunately) to challenge ROH World Television champion, The Blackheart, Lio Rush. The two took a minute to even start the match. They fought on the outside for the first few moments, but as they got to the ring and the bell was rung, the match started very slowly; the two combatants took it easy, feeling each other out. But of course, with these two in the ring, the action picked up quickly, with Lio Rush doing multiple high-flying moves to Clon and even catching a Pele Kick from Clon. Clon caught the timing of Rush and caught him with a knee to the head and a Blue Thunder Bomb for a 2-count. For the next few minutes they went back and forth with very quick strikes and blows until Rush slowed it down by trying to remove Clon’s mask. He did not like that and delivered a dropkick to the back of Lio’s head. Clon was able to exucute his Pele Kick and brought him to the top ropes, but Rush countered and locked in his bending submission to make El Clon tap.
Athena Backstage Promo
  • Athena had a backstage promo calling out the women and men who say they are long-reigning champions or are unbeatable when she exists. She says she is going to bet a quarter on Hasuki because the odds of her winning are so small that if it somehow happened, Athena would become a millionaire.
Chop it up with Billie Starks:
  • Interviewer: “When did you start wrestling?” Billie: “Honestly, around when I was 13… I never really had a backup plan; this was the goal.” Interviewer: “So is it true you were valedictorian?” Billie: “Yes, it is; even I couldn’t believe it when my teacher told me to get my robes.”What was your reaction to that?” Billie: “I was on my parents’ couch, and I remember just being so happy. Like I told my parents. I think I did it,” she also said, “we are like a family here at AEW.” There was much more said in this interview, and it was pretty sweet the whole time until Athena came in yelling at the interviewer and Billie saying that he’s filling her head with crazy things.
Women’s Trios Match- Skye Blue, Marina Shafir, Hikaru Shida vs. Maya World, Hyan, Thunder Rosa
  • Next up was Skye Blue, Marina Shafir, and Hikaru Shida vs. Hyan, Maya World, and Thunder Rosa. The match started with the pairing of Skye Blue and Maya World. Marina Shafir got in there against Maya and locked her up in a backbreaker submission, but she was able to escape and tag in Hyan. Shafir taunted the freshly tagged-in Thunder Rosa and backed out to let Shida in, and as the announcers also stated, those 2 women have major history. Hyan delivers an aggressive Tope to the rest of the women on the outside. As expected, the heel team played very dirty the entire time, whether it was having multiple women in the ring at a time, cheap shots, or even holding submissions under the ropes for too long, as Shida did. Maya World hits an “Area Code Kick” on Skye Blue. Hyan continues to give Shafir chops, but she easily withstands them, so Hyan ducks out to Thunder Rosa, who gets locked into a submission from Shafir. In a last-ditch effort to stop Maya World from breaking up the hold, Shida tries to hit her with the TBS belt but hits Shafir instead, which allows Rosa to roll Marina up for the win.
Singles Match- Komander vs. Soberano Jr.
  • Then it was time for the battle of the luchadors, Komander vs. Soberano Jr., who had quite the saunter to the ring. A 10-minute time limit was placed at the start of this match, so Komander wasted no time. As Soberano Jr. ducked to the outside, Komander jumped the ropes for a Tope right off the bell. The speed of these men is hard to follow, but Soberano Jr. obtains the upper hand pretty quickly. (Quick note: the commentators were hilarious for this match). Komander did a double springboard hurricarana, but Soberano Jr. recovered quickly and gave Komander a powerful slam for a 2-count. Soberano Jr. misses a moonsault, which gives Komander a chance to capitalize, but he loses control almost instantaneously. He is eventually able to give Soberano a poisenrana on the outside. He then drags him back in for a full ropes run moonsault. Soberano kicks out and gives a full moveset worth of attacks to Komander, but it isn’t enough, and Komander can’t get enough offense for the win either. Soberano Jr. can drop Komander on his head twice for the pin.
The Main Event- Kyle Fletcher vs. Mascara Dorada
  • Finally, it was time for the main event of Global Wars Mexico, Kyle Fletcher vs. Mascara Dorada. Don Calis gives his personal introduction of Kyle Fletcher in Spanish to the Mexican crowd and finds an opportunity to call his protege “sexy.” Dorada begins his offense with a shoulder tackle, to which Fletcher delivers a much stronger one that knocks Dorada off his feet. A little ways into the match, Fletcher is forcing multiple 2-counts over Dorada, but when they climb to the top rope, Mascara is able to counter and give a devastating huricarana and a corkscrew tope to the outside. Fletcher charges for a knee strike but is avoided by Dorada jumping up and over for another huricarana but Fletcher stops him, holds him, and hits a massive powerbomb. Mascara is able to get back up miraculously quickly and hits a Mexican Destroyer on Kyle, but at 2, Fletcher gets his foot on the ropes to break the pin. Dorada with a Pinwheel head scissors into a high-flying dive, but Fletcher kicks out at 2 again! Fletcher knocks him down but gets rolled up for 2! Fletcher gets up AGAIN and hits Dorada with a brainbuster for the win!
