WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes may have just said what most WWE fans and other stars are thinking! Speaking on the recent edition of his “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast, the WWE superstar was very clear about his feelings on legends constantly coming back to wrestle and taking up other talents’ spots.

Rhodes states, “I hate nostalgia, but I love my business. I already know what all these guys did for us. Thank you — they’ve set the table that I get to eat at. But man, they can’t keep coming back.”

The comments were both very professional and courteous, yet the message was still apparent! In addition to being a beloved Babyface with the fans, he has also been more vocal recently, speaking up for other talent that doesn’t have the voice and reach he has.

Rhodes would continue saying, “From a wrestling perspective, we have to move forward. I don’t want them coming back. I don’t mean any disrespect — I want them to come to a show, sit, and watch a show. Watch what they’ve done for the business.”

“I don’t think enough people are in the pursuit of greatness, and they’re afraid to say it. Mediocrity loves company. When you find a circle of people that don’t grow as close to you, and don’t want you to go for it.”

Regardless of your feelings on Cody Rhodes as a talent and performer, one thing is abundantly clear: he is a wrestler who grew up in this business. He understands the importance of creating new stars for the future!
