We have a new Wrestling Open Champion: Bear Bronson! In a classic main event on Wrestling Open RI’s Star Spangled Spectacular, which took place on May 25th, Bear Bronson and Dustin Waller laid it all on the line with the Finals of the Wrestling Open Championship Tournament!

The highly anticipated bout lived up to the hype and completely delivered! It appeared as though Waller was leaving Cranston as the new Champion when he pinned Bronson to become the new champion initially!

Then things got really interesting as Former Wrestling Open Champion Ryan Clancy came out, got on the mic, and told Bronson he should cash in his “Opportunity Knocks” contract right now. The crowd chanted, “Do it!” Bear nodded, and an immediate rematch began. It took Bronson 22 seconds to defeat Waller to be the new champion in stunning fashion!

This tournament came about when the then-current champion, “Fancy” Ryan Clancy, had to vacate the title due to injury. No timeline has been given for this return yet.
