Top 3 Moments of WWE NXT Roadblock 2025

On Tuesday, March 11th, WWE returned to The Theater at Madison Square Garden for its big event, NXT Roadblock. The show was headlined by one of the biggest women’s matches in NXT when Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer met in a Winner Take All match for the NXT Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s North American Championship. We also saw Matt and Jeff Hardy put their TNA World Tag Team Championships on the line against Nathan Frazer and Axiom, Oba Femi put his NXT Championship on the line against TNA’s Moose, and so much more. So, what were the top three moments of NXT Roadblock?
3.) NXT Turns Into The Hardy Party
In the opening contest of the night, Matt and Jeff Hardy returned to WWE NXT to defend their TNA World Tag Team Championships against one of the greatest young tag teams in professional wrestling today, Fraxiom. Nathan Frazer and Axiom showed the world in this match that they can compete with one of the greatest tag teams of all time, The Hardy Boyz. Ultimately, Matt and Jeff Hardy retained their TNA World Tag Team Championships when Jeff Hardy hit his Swanton Bomb on Frazer.
This match delivered on all fronts. It was wild from beginning to end. Some miscommunication from Axiom and Frazer led to Matt and Jeff Hardy being able to gain the upper hand. It was cool to see The Hardys continue to use their new move, the Plot Twist. This is a move that began using in TNA and have continued to use it ever since. Ultimately, their victory over Nathan Frazer and Axiom begs one question for the fans, and maybe even Fraxiom, is it time to give The Hardy Boyz a chance at the NXT Tag Team Championships?
While it certainly may not be an easy decision, I’d certainly welcome another showdown between the two teams. Overall, this match was the perfect way to start what was going to be a stacked NXT show. It remains to be seen what happens next, but one thing I know is that the relationship between WWE and TNA is truly just getting underway. With Matt Hardy going on record saying WWE is their home and that’s where they want to finish, it seems like we will see much more of Matt and Jeff Hardy coming up.
2.) Oba Femi Gets Advice from The Undertaker/Retains the NXT Championship over TNA’s Moose
In one of the night’s biggest marquee matches, we saw Oba Femi put the NXT Championship on the line against TNA Wrestling’s Moose. Booker T said it best when the match started: “MEAT!” This match was simply put: two of the biggest and baddest dudes in their respective promotions going at it for the right to call themselves NXT Champion. Ultimately, after a war, Femi hit a massive Fall From Grace on Moose to retain his NXT Championship against one of the best TNA has to offer.
Probably one of the coolest moments of the night happened while Femi made his way out to the entranceway. He came face-to-face with The Undertaker and had a nice moment with him. Undertaker told Femi he’s been watching him for a while, and he’s been very “impressed.” He keeps it short and sweet with Femi and tells him to “protect his yard.” Meaning that Oba’s WWE’s guy, and more importantly, NXT’s guy. He can’t let a TNA star waltz right in to NXT and take his title.
Overall, this match was everything we’d hoped it would be. Femi went to war with Moose, and the two big men left everything out on the mat. It remains to be seen where the WWE/TNA partnership goes from here, but one thing we know for sure is that it’s a wild ride to be a professional wrestling fan. The next stage of the WWE/TNA partnership happens on Friday night when NXT’s Cora Jade challenges TNA’s Masha Slamovich for the TNA Knockouts Championship.
1.) Stephanie Vaquer wins the Winner Take All match
In the main event of tonight’s show, we saw Giulia meet Stephanie Vaquer one-on-one in a Winner Take All match for both the NXT Women’s Championship and the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Both women left it all out in the ring, but ultimately, there would only be one winner to take home both of the Women’s Championships in NXT. Ultimately, after hitting her third SVB of the match, Vaquer walked out of The Theater at Madison Square Garden with both championships.
Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer have been pretty similar to one another in NXT. They started around the same time in NXT, and both are bringing the NXT women’s division to brand-new heights. It remains to be seen what made WWE pull the trigger on Vaquer and, more importantly, what made them combine both championships. There were rumors running rampant about Giulia being injured. Is the injury worse than they think and she may have to miss some time? It’s possible.
However, one thing we do know is that Vaquer is now the undisputed ruler of the NXT women’s division. It should be interesting to see what happens from here. It was reported recently that WWE does not plan to combine the two championships. So, Vaquer may be pulling double duty for the foreseeable future. Regardless, Stephanie Vaquer is your new NXT Women’s Champion and still the NXT Women’s North American Champion.
