All Elite Wrestling has one of the greatest men’s divisions in all of wrestling, and that’s very obvious to see. They can go toe-to-toe with any other men’s division in the sport of professional wrestling. Looking towards the future, there are a lot of options for who could be the next to win the AEW World Championship following Jon Moxley vs. Adam Page. There’s one name that has to be in that conversation: Jay White.

Jay White is arguably one of the greatest professional wrestlers around today. Not only can he talk the talk, but he can also walk the walk. Everything he says, he can back up, with his in-ring ability. Arguably, he can do in-ring work better than anyone, against anyone. His size puts him up there, too. Standing at 6’1″ and 220 lbs of lean muscle, his presentation is all there. He truly has everything a professional wrestler has to have.

Jay White Deserves Some Singles Gold When He’s Clear

With the influx of talent coming to the AEW men’s division, there weren’t a lot of spots for White to take. Many called for him to join WWE before signing with AEW full-time. Sometimes, this could still be an argument to make because White could have fit in well in WWE, too. Instead of wrestling bangers with Seth Rollins, White leads a faction and has appeared in numerous comedy acts during his time in AEW. However, he has finally started getting a minor push before his hand injury.

Now, that’s not to say he hasn’t been given a chance in AEW, because he has. He’s a former AEW World Trios Champion and Ring Of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Champion, alongside the Bang Bang Gang. The Bang Bang Gang has been one of the most fun factions in AEW, and they’re a blast to watch together. However, this is nothing compared to his singles run in New Japan. White ran that company as the top champion for quite some time. This first put himself on the map.

White deserves similar respect and similar direction in AEW, but he has yet to get it. Jon Moxley is the AEW World Champion, and next in line looks to be Adam Page, or even Darby Allin. Then, with Ricochet and Will Ospreay in the company, they could each find themselves in front of White in the pecking order on who should be the next AEW World Champion. However, White’s name must be in the conversation.

Tony Khan has to do a better job of booking Jay White. Before his hand injury, White was feuding with the Death Riders. He teamed up with Cope to square off with the Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley in a losing effort. He was announced to be in the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament this year. However, he was replaced by Kevin Knight when he sustained a hand injury that required surgery.

Jay White is an absolute superstar, and we’ve seen that firsthand with his time in New Japan. When news broke that he was leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling, everyone knew that whoever landed him would have a surefire main eventer on their hands. Sadly, that just hasn’t panned out yet in AEW. However, there’s still plenty of time to fix this when White is clear to come back to in-ring competition.

White deserves more direction than what he’s had in AEW. White has worked with some of the best talent on the roster in AEW. The only issue is that he has not won too many of those feuds. Even if AEW has a bloated roster, White is not someone you could or should just let flounder around. There has to be better booking in place for one of the best AEW has to offer, which finally results in a big push and an AEW World Championship run.
