On Friday, April 25th, TNA Wrestling hosted a big press pass with the TNA World Champion, Joe Hendry, in anticipation of the TNA Rebellion show on Sunday, as well as Hendry’s WrestleMania 41 appearance against Randy Orton. Turnbuckle Times’ Scott Mitchell was in attendance and got to speak with Joe Hendry about leading the next era of TNA Wrestling as the TNA World Champion and what it means to him. You can watch Scott Mitchell speak with Joe Hendry at the 50:43 mark in the video down below.

Scott: What does it mean to you to be representing the company on a big scale, like you did at WrestleMania and now be the top of the mountain at TNA?

Joe Hendry: “It’s a huge responsibility, but it’s something I’m extremely proud of. Like I’ve said, I’m fortunate enough to be the person in this position, but it has taken an army of people to put me in this position. So, my goal is to try and translate as much business as I can for TNA Wrestling from the increased attention that we have. I had to make a choice, TNA made a choice, WWE made a choice, we all made a choice to do this and I think that we’ve done it in a way that benefits everybody. So, now it’s on me to get as many eyeballs as possible to TNA Wrestling.”

Hendry is coming off a fantastic showing at WrestleMania 41 against the 14-time World Champion, Randy Orton. Despite some fans’ negativity online, Hendry enjoyed his time at WrestleMania and his match with Orton. Despite the match itself being under four minutes, it was the first time in WWE history that a TNA wrestler had appeared at WrestleMania. Hendry is truly breaking boundaries in his TNA World Championship run. He defends the title in a triple threat match at Rebellion on Sunday night as he takes on Frankie Kazarian and NXT’s Ethan Page.
